We believe a Tuxedo rental should be all about
making YOU, the customer, look your BEST.
We realize and respect the fact that people rent tuxedos for some of the
most important events of their lives, and we will not treat you like you're
at the supermarket picking up a gallon of milk.
CUSTOMER SERVICE/ FITTING
-The person doing the measuring and fitting
must be experienced. A poorly trained person can make many mistakes on
the same customer, any ONE of which can cause a poor, ill-fitting rental.
-Make sure the Tuxedo shop has jackets in a full range of sizes and styles for you to try on. Do not let a store operator tell you that you were "measured" for your jacket size. Measuring a person's chest and arms is simply a way of estimating, or guessing, the jacket size. This method results in the wrong size more than half the time. The only way to tell if a jacket fits is to TRY IT ON. Also, trying to pick your tuxedo style from a picture can often backfire. Just because it looks good on the model does not mean you will like it on yourself.
ADJUSTMENTS
-Make sure tailoring and adjustments for your rental can be done ON PREMISES.
At Formals Only, most adjustments are made while you wait, usually in
a matter of minutes. You will not have to make 2 or 3 trips back and forth
to pick up your tuxedo at Formals Only.
DRY CLEANING
Make sure the Tuxedo shop uses a reputable drycleaner, and keeps their
rental stock in top notch condition.
Poor Drycleaning = Poor Stock = Poor Quality Rentals
Believe it or not, some tuxedo shops try to use their tuxedos more than
once without drycleaning them! This is an unsafe and unsanitary practice.
Here are some danger signs to watch out for:
- Garbage / items left in pockets
- Rumpled, unpressed look on jackets and/or pants
- Wrinkles across back of jacket or on the sleeves where a person's arm
bends
- Beware of any odors, spots, or excessive lint

in Bergen County. Every garment we rent is carefully drycleaned and pressed
after every use. Our shirts are professionally laundered and hand finished.
